ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Former Manchester United defender Neville formed part of the punditry team for NBC Sports' coverage of Arsenal’s recent Premier League clash with Brentford. Following a 1-1 draw at Emirates Stadium, the ex-England international said: "What's happened this season is I think they've gone backwards from the start of the season in terms of their recruitment. They never covered themselves for their likely injury to (Kai) Havertz, who was their only centre-forward."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Former Middlesbrough midfielder Robbie Mustoe responded with: “I wouldn't agree that they have regressed. (Arteta) is getting closer, it was just a difficult season with injuries.” Neville went on to say that Arsenal are “always trying to be let off the hook” and have “'the worst attacking squad out of the top six”.

WHAT JAMIE CARRAGHER SAID
Those comments attracted criticism, with Mustoe considered to have won a lively debate. Carragher has now poked fun at his Sky Sports colleague, telling the podcast during a conversation with Rebecca Lowe: “Has Gary recovered? I mean he got absolutely battered didn't he by Robbie Mustoe. I mean he absolutely destroyed him on air.
“I didn't know if we'd even want him back on Sky. I mean he's gone over there and absolutely embarrassed us. He got absolutely schooled. He's gone over there to crack America, and he can't even crack Robbie Mustoe.”
